The Law Offices of Philip R. Brown is committed to providing the highest quality legal representation of Plaintiffs and Defendants in commercial litigation and personal injury matters. Because of our legal experience we have been honored to serve as Hawaii attorney for some of the state's most well known citizens and businesses. However, we take great pride in the fact that we strive to treat all of our clients with the same courtesy and respect. We understand that even the most modest cases are still the most important legal matters that you may ever be involved in. We are also very proud of the fact that as a full service Hawaii attorney, we have recovered millions of dollars for our clients.

The reason we can be the lawyer for such a diverse range of clients, in a wide variety of cases is the legal background of Philip R. Brown. Although Phil Brown became a full time civil litigation attorney in 1985, he became a Hawaii attorney after moving to Honolulu in 1993. Before becoming a Hawaii lawyer, Brown worked for two of the most prominent law firms in the nation. Upon graduating from Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1985, Mr. Brown worked for Hunton & Williams, one of the largest law firms in America. He then joined the litigation section of the New York law firm Reid & Priest (now Thelen Reid & Priest). As a New York lawyer, Mr. Brown represented corporate clients focusing primarily on commercial litigation. In 1993, Mr. Brown moved to Hawaii joining its largest firm, Carlsmith Ball. In 1995, famed Hawaii Plaintiffs lawyer Dave Schutter asked Mr. Brown to pursue the claims of approximately 4,000 plaintiffs in a large commercial litigation. After two years, the case resulted in a $39 million settlement for the Plaintiffs. In October 1997, Mr. Brown started his own office.

Mr. Brown carries the highest legal ability rating in Martindale-Hubbell and may be found in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers under the subject matters Civil Trial Practice, Commercial Litigation, and Personal Injury. Since 1997, Mr. Brown has continued representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases. From defending a luxury hotel to protecting the civil rights of a private citizen, Mr. Brown has become one of the busiest attorneys in Hawaii. Relying on his diverse experience, Phil Brown is now the Hawaii attorney for Plaintiffs and Defendants in Commercial Litigation and Personal Injury cases. Moreover, because Phil Brown was trained at two of the biggest law firms in the United States, he is often is often the Hawaii lawyer or "local counsel" for attorneys and law firms seeking an attorney in Hawaii.

Our firm motto is "big firm experience, small firm service" because Mr. Brown has the same ability and training as Hawaii lawyers from some of the states largest and most expensive law firms. But since we are a boutique law office, we will give you the personalized attention and courteous service of a small firm. We can (and have) litigated against Hawaii's largest law firms at a fraction of the cost. We understand that these days the expense of the legal system can be as frightening as the system itself and we strive to minimize costs.

And if you choose our office, Phil Brown will not be passing your case on to a younger, less experienced Hawaii attorney. Mr. Brown will personally work on your case. Your telephone calls will either be answered or promptly returned. And if we are not the right Hawaii attorney for you we will tell you, and try to help you find a Hawaii lawyer that can help you solve your problem.
